On January 23, 2020 the Global Sustainable Seafood Initiative (GSSI) published its updated Charter 3.0, approved by the GSSI Steering Board in November 2019.

The GSSI Charter sets out the Code of Conduct for over 90 GSSI Funding and Affiliated partners, as well as the organization’s Rules of Governance, and updated Privacy and Communications Policies.

The Communications Policy included in the Charter 3.0 aims to further support GSSI’s global partners in their efforts working with GSSI as the leading public-private partnership on seafood sustainability.

Katrina Clem, who recently joined GSSI as their Partnership Officer, said, “Working in close, collaborative partnership defines all of our work at GSSI and our updated Communications Policy will help to take this further. By providing our growing number of partners with fresh tools and resources we look forward to continuing to showcase the value of GSSI’s partnership throughout the industry.”

Transparency and inclusivity continue to be at the foundation of GSSI’s engagement with its global network of stakeholders industry-wide. The rules and guidelines in this latest version of the Charter support our robust, effective operations as we work towards delivering more sustainable seafood for everyone.”
