Cayetana Aljovín is elected as president of the National Fisheries Society for the period 2019-2021

The new board of directors of the National Fisheries Society (SNP) unanimously elected the lawyer and former Minister Cayetana Aljovín Gazzani as president for the period 2019 – 2021.

In the Executive Committee of the SNP, they will accompany Aljovín, Gonzalo de Romaña of the TASA company as first vice president; and Ricardo Bernales de Pesquera Diamante as second vice president.

The associates highlighted the work that has been done by the guild to promote the sustainability of the different Peruvian fisheries, encourage innovation and contribute to scientific research and dissemination.

In thanking for his election, the new holder of the SNP highlighted the positive evolution that has presented the fishing sector in the last ten years as a result of the Quota Law, as well as the work done in favor of the sustainability of the resource, and respect and care for the environment.

Cayetana Aljovín is a lawyer from the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru (PUCP) and has an MBA (Master’s Degree in Business Administration) from the Adolfo Ibáñez University in Chile. During her career in the public sector she was Minister of Development and Social Inclusion; Energy and Mines; and Chancellor of the Republic.

In the private sector, she was a partner in Estudio Miranda & Amado Abogados, where she served as Director of Regulatory Affairs of Bellsouth Peru, General Manager of the Association of Capital Market Promoting Companies (Pro Capitals), General Manager of Llorente & Cuenca, Vice President executive of the National Confederation of Private Business Institutions (CONFIEP), among other positions.

She has also taught university at the PUCP, National University of San Marcos (UNMSM), Peruvian University of Applied Sciences (UPC), among others. She is currently director of Interbank and president of the Board of Azerta Comunicación Estratégica.
