Aquaculture Company to bring new jobs to Orange County
A unique new company is coming to Orange County, bringing fresh crops and some new jobs to the area. Crisper Products will set up shop on Mallory’s Ford Road. As an aquaculture company, they grow all of their produce in tanks of water in climate-controlled greenhouses, which they say is pesticide free and safer than traditional methods. Fruits, vegetables, spices, and fish are just some of the products they’ll be offering.
The company’s president, John Faigle, said that he and his partner have been researching this method for five years. He said seafood in the wild is being depleted and that they wanted to do something about it by growing it in controlled environments.
Karen Epps, Orange County’s Economic Development Director, says the business will bring some much needed jobs to the area.
“They’ll hire 10 to 15 employees here in Orange County, which will be great. We’re always trying to find jobs for our residents so it’s going to help with that unemployment rate. We’re really excited,” she said.
They are expected to break ground in August.
